1st Interop event - CMS - 14/18 Nov 2011

ERTICO - ITS Europe is proud to announce the first Cooperative Mobility Services Interoperability event, organised in co-operation with ETSI.

This event will be held from the 14th to 18th November 2011 at the facilities of ERTICO's partner TNO, on the High Tech Automotive Campus of Helmond, The Netherlands. TNO will host the plugtest on behalf of the consortium "Dutch Integrated Testsite Cooperative Mobility".

On 17 November 2011, a public workshop will be organised to present the results of the interoperability testing to a large audience. Read more on the workshop.

Fully in line with its mission of driving the deployment of ITS, and especially Cooperative Systems, ERTICO - ITS Europe decided to join forces with ETSI for the organisation and promotion of this interoperability event. ERTICO indeed believes that the testing of interoperability is an essential step towards the deployment of Cooperative Systems, as compliance with the latest standards may not ensure that complete implementations of different Cooperative Systems Units from multiple vendors communicate and behave properly in real conditions.

It will therefore be the aim of this event to test the level of interoperability between complete ITS units during vendor to vendor sessions. The results of this session will also lead to discussions and feedbacks on the current version of the ITS standards.

For ERTICO partners, this interoperability event is a complementary activity to the standardisation of ITS, organised by the European Standardisation Bodies, and to the development and live testing of standard compliant Cooperative Systems prototypes. Several European research and deployment projects are specifically active in this field, e.g. DRIVE C2X or eCoMove, who will be partners to this event, with many of their consortium members participating to the testing sessions.
