8 new partners to join the RCI Consortium!

The RCI project Steering Committee officially approved 8 June two consortia of new suppliers to join the RCI consortium. They were chosen by four independent experts on the basis of the evaluation results of the five proposals received.

The first consortium consists of ELEM S.p.A., Q-Free ASA and is lead by FELA Management AG. The other group includes AGES International GmbH & Co. KG, Kapsch TrafficCom AG, Sociedad Ibérica de Construcciones Eléctricas S.A., Thales Transportation Systems and leader Technolution B.V.

Both groups have committed to the specification and implementation of onboard equipment that can operate seamlessly and without user intervention throughout different road charging infrastructures that make use of satellite positioning, mobile communications using GSM-GPRS and 5.8 GHz microwave technologies.

Around €2 million in funding has been allocated to the eight suppliers.
