The RCI project held a two-day meeting in Brussels, 13-14 July 2006, which featured its annual General Assembly. The meeting successfully launched Stage 2 of the project, focusing on the finalisation of the requirements for interoperable road charging and the implementation and demonstration of two different types of prototypes.
The meeting also provided the opportunity for RCI's new partners to introduce themselves to the rest of the consortium.

The General Assembly was followed by a Technical Coordination meeting to further work on definition of use cases and system requirements.
The RCI consortium also decided to organise a 27 July workshop with the RCI Forum at ERTICO in Brussels. The objective of this workshop is to discuss and improve the first version of the RCI system requirements for interoperable road charging solutions with stakeholders not involved in the RCI consortium. As such the RCI consortium wishes to extend the basis for further technical development towards the architecture and specifications and plans to organise a related workshop in the autumn.
Interested stakeholders can participate in the future RCI workshops by becoming a member of the RCI Forum.
