RCI System Requirements Workshop

The first RCI System Requirements Workshop took place at ERTICO in Brussels on 27 July 2006. The event brought together 40 industry participants, including members of the RCI Forum and representatives of the European Commission. It was the first of three such meetings scheduled during the course of the project, inviting stakeholders which are not directly involved in the RCI consortium to participate in the discussions.

The workshop allowed the RCI consortium to present the possible uses for RCI and the system requirements that these uses would entail. In-depth discussions during the four breakout sessions then allowed the Forum to give valuable comments and suggestions to improve the first version of these use cases and requirements for interoperable road charging.

These discussions will also help the RCI consortium broaden the basis for further technical development towards the architecture and specifications. A related workshop will be organised with the RCI Forum in the autumn.

The conclusions of the breakout sessions along with other key workshop documents are available under the Forum section of this website.

If you would like to become a member of the RCI Forum, find out more and register on the Forum page as well.
