ROSATTE at ITS WC 2008

Data exchange infrastructure for safety related road attributes
The ROSATTE project has been successfully promoted at the 15th ITS World Congress in New York through a series papers presented by its partners.

Ulrich Haspel, from the Bavarian Ministry and leader of the Bavarian test site, presented the paper “ROSATTE - a European project for promoting the exchange of road safety attributes” providing an overview of the project, its objectives and innovative approach, and how the implementation will be run on the German test site.

Stephen T’Siobbel from Tele Atlas gave an extensive presentation of the paper “Integration of European Public Authorities Safety Attributes in Commercial Digital Maps Databases” which addresses the technical and organizational aspects related to the aggregation and integration of the safety attributes supplied by road authorities in existing maps. T’Siobbel expressed how the input data reflect (incremental) updates of safety attributes according to an appropriate exchange format which will be available from application to application using web services and open protocols.

Kees Wevers and Stéphane Dreher from Navteq presented the technical paper with title “Data exchange infrastructure for safety related road attributes” where they presented the challenges of the data exchange infrastructure with a history of previous projects that lead to the ROSATTE project.
